How treatment prices work in Korea
- Every price has a unit
- Shots, lines, cc, syringes, units, sessions and vials are the denominators clinics price against. Two quotes in different units cannot be compared until you convert them to the same basis.
- Tax is a separate line
- Cosmetic procedures in Korea are generally subject to 10% VAT. A quote may show it included, added at checkout, or not mentioned, and each case changes the real total.
- Bundles shift the math
- Packages change the per-session figure, but they also change what you are committing to in advance. The useful question is what each session costs if you stop early.
- Low prices carry variables
- A figure that looks unusually small may reflect a smaller quantity, a different product, or a different operator. Asking what the number includes is a cost question, not a rude one.

Patient guides
- What unit is a Korean skin treatment priced in?Korean clinics price each treatment category against its own unit: energy devices by shots or lines, fillers by cc or syringe, botulinum toxin by units or area, lasers by session, and skin boosters by vial or ampoule. A price only means something once you know its unit and how many of those units your treatment plan actually calls for.
- How do you read a Korean skin clinic quote line by line?Read a quote as a set of separate lines, each with a treatment, a unit, a quantity, a product, and a tax status, then check what sits outside those lines. If any line is missing one of those elements, it is an estimate rather than a price you can hold the clinic to.
- How does VAT affect a Korean skin treatment price, and can tourists claim it back?Cosmetic procedures in Korea are generally subject to 10% VAT, which a quote may include, add separately, or not mention. Korea has operated a medical VAT refund scheme for foreign tourists on eligible cosmetic procedures at participating clinics, but its terms have had time limits and changes, so the current rules must be checked before you rely on it.
- Why does a very low skin treatment price deserve questions? An unusually low figure is usually explained by a change in one of the cost variables: fewer units, a different or diluted product, a reused or non-genuine consumable, or a different person performing the treatment. Asking which variable moved is the only way to know whether the low price is the same treatment for less money or a different treatment altogether.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an appointment?
Appointments are recommended. Send us your preferred date by messenger and we will confirm a time.
How can I pay?
International and Korean credit cards, cash in Korean won, and WeChat Pay are accepted. Itemized receipts are issued for every payment.
Can foreign visitors get a VAT refund?
Certain cosmetic procedures may qualify for a VAT refund for foreign visitors. We prepare the refund document at checkout for you to process at the airport.
What languages do your staff speak?
Our doctors consult in English, and staff support is available in English, Korean and Mandarin.
Who do I contact with aftercare questions?
Message us on WhatsApp, KakaoTalk or WeChat, or email us. Include photos if possible and a doctor will review them.
Why do online price lists for the same treatment look so different?
They are often priced in different units or quantities, and some include VAT while others do not. One list may quote a full-face session while another quotes a smaller area or fewer shots. Normalize the unit and tax status before drawing any conclusion.
Can I get a final price before I arrive?
You can usually get an estimate, but the final figure depends on the doctor's in-person examination. Skin condition, anatomy and medical history may change the recommended product, quantity, or whether the treatment is suitable at all.
Is VAT always included in Korean clinic prices?
Not always. Cosmetic procedures are generally subject to 10% VAT, but clinics present it differently. Ask directly whether a quoted figure is tax-inclusive.
