Density

Density combines monopolar and bipolar RF, so a quote may list more than one handpiece mode.

How it works

Density, from Jeisys Medical, is a radiofrequency platform at 6.78 MHz that offers both monopolar and bipolar delivery. In monopolar mode the current travels deeper toward a return pad, while the bipolar mode keeps the current between two electrodes closer to the surface. Having both lets the practitioner address more than one depth in a single appointment. The aim is to warm tissue enough to encourage collagen remodeling, and results differ between individuals.

Good to know

  • Two modes mean a plan may count shots in each, and a single combined figure can obscure the split.
  • Handpiece or tip type may differ between the modes, which can create two consumable lines.
  • The bipolar mode is described as shallower, and it is sometimes used on thinner-skinned zones such as the periorbital area.
  • The Jeisys name also appears on other devices from the same company, so confirm Density by name.

How Density affects a treatment quote

The distinguishing feature here is the choice of mode. An estimate that says only Density RF lifting, a number of shots, leaves open whether those shots are monopolar, bipolar or both. Ask for the split, since the two modes are separate parts of the plan.

From there, the regular items apply. How many visits are expected, whether the tips are inside the total, and whether numbing and VAT are included. A clinic may also propose Density as an add-on to another treatment, and in that case the Density portion should have its own count. The doctor will fix the plan at the exam, so use early figures only for rough comparison.

Density: common questions

Why would a Density quote list two modes?

Monopolar and bipolar work at different depths, and a plan can use both. Each may have its own shot count.

Is the bipolar part cheaper?

Not necessarily. Pricing depends on the clinic, so ask for the count in each mode rather than assuming.

What if the quote gives a single total?

Request the breakdown. It lets you compare against another written plan on the same basis.
