How lifting treatments are priced, and how to compare quotes

Lifting covers ultrasound, radiofrequency, microwave, laser, and thread methods, and each counts its work differently. One clinic may quote a shot total, another a named area, another a number of threads. This page explains what each unit means so that two quotes can be set side by side, and how to choose among the options.

How to choose

  1. The counting unit

Ultrasound and RF plans are usually written as shots or lines, microwave and laser plans as sessions or areas, and threads as a thread count. Convert every quote to the same unit before comparing.

  2. Consumable parts

Cartridges and tips are rated for a limited number of shots or pulses and are normally used for one person. Ask whether the part is included or listed as its own line.

  3. Area covered

A full-face plan, a lower-face plan, and a neck add-on are different scopes. A smaller figure often reflects a smaller area, not a better rate.

  4. Repeat schedule

Some methods are repeated after months, others in a short series. The cost over a year depends on the schedule the doctor expects.

  5. Add-ons and tax

Numbing, a follow-up visit, aftercare products, and VAT can each be inside or outside the figure. Ask for a yes or no on each.

When a doctor may advise waiting

  • Anyone expecting one figure to cover every lifting method; the units differ.
  • People who are pregnant, have implants or active skin disease in the area, or take blood thinners should have the doctor decide first.
  • Anyone looking for a quote without an exam; the plan depends on the in-person assessment.

Lifting: common questions

Why do lifting quotes look so different?

They count different things. A shot total, a pulse count, a session, and a thread count are not interchangeable. Ask each clinic for the unit, the area, and the visit count.

Is a higher shot count always better value?

No. Shot size and depth differ by device and plan, so a higher count can mean the same coverage. Look at area and inclusions.

Should I pick the method with the lowest repeat cost?

Consider the schedule and your goal as well. A method repeated more often may cost more across a year even if each visit is smaller.
