Mark-Vu
Mark-Vu is a skin analysis camera, so a quote is about the assessment fee and what happens to the report.
How it works
Mark-Vu is a digital skin analysis camera system. It takes standardized photographs of the face, sometimes under different lighting, and software reports on features such as pigmentation, pores, wrinkles and redness. It does not treat anything, and it does not emit therapeutic energy. The clinic confirms the manufacturer of the system it uses. The images give a record that can be compared over time, and the doctor still makes the judgment about what the findings mean.
Good to know
- No treatment is delivered, so there are no shots, tips or sessions to count.
- A clinic may charge a separate analysis fee, fold it into the consultation, or offer it at no charge with a treatment.
- Reports differ in format, and some are printed while others are shown on screen only.
- Follow-up scans, used for comparison, may be priced as repeat visits.
How Mark-Vu affects a treatment quote
Mark-Vu sits at the start of the cost conversation, not in the middle of it. The practical question is whether the analysis is a separate line, part of a consultation or tied to a treatment package, and whether you receive the report to keep.
Ask whether a repeat scan is available later and how it is priced, as comparing before and after only works with the same camera and conditions. Ask whether the findings change the plan or the quote, and who explains them. Since the report is a tool for discussion and not a diagnosis, the doctor's own assessment still decides what is recommended. The system's maker should be asked about, not guessed.
Mark-Vu: common questions
Is a skin analysis charged separately?
Policies differ. Some clinics charge a fee, some include it in the consultation, and some tie it to a treatment.
Do I get a copy of the report?
Ask. Some clinics give a printout or file, others only show it in the room.
Does the analysis change the quote?
It can inform the doctor's recommendation, but the final plan comes from the exam.
